CBL - Rules and Regulations
*Bocce Rule Changes - 2023*
WALKERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN PLAYOFFS
Rules still enforced from last Spring and Fall bocce seasons:
FAIR BALL vs. FOUL BALL
The player that throws the pallino must throw the first bocce ball. Bocce ball thrown must be fair. (A Fair Bocce ball is when any part of the bocce ball is in the playing field. On the line is fair) If the first bocce ball is foul, that same player must throw the next bocce ball If the second ball is foul, the other player on the team must throw the next ball.
FORFEITS
If 4 players are on court at the start time, game must start immediately.
If 3 players are on court at the start time, game must start immediately.
All make-ups must be done within 4 weeks of the original date. *Failure to do so will result in a double forfeiture for both teams.
FORFEIT SCORING: The winning team on a forfeit will accrue +11 points for the match and a won match, and the forfeiting team will gain -11 points for the match and a loss match. This is to discourage forfeits and prevent teams who don’t need the match to not play it out.
RAIN OUTS
Rainouts MUST be made up within 4 weeks of the original date.
If Night Rep or Commissioner calls for a rainout, all unplayed games must be made up. Completed games are to be recorded and considered completed. If matches cannot start within 30 minutes of scheduled start time because of inclement weather, all unfinished games must be made up.
If weather conditions stop play at any time after games have started, all completed games will count.
If any rained out games/matches have not been made up within four weeks of the original date both teams will incur a forfeit (-11 points, a match loss, and 2 game losses).
Check the Calendar when scheduling a Rain Out make-up match. If you'd like to schedule a
time for a make-up match, please email CBL HERE and we'll put your match on the calendar
to reserve the courts.
ALTERNATES: After the 24 seeded teams have been identified, the remainder of the league will be seeded. The top 4 teams of that seed will be considered alternates. Alternates are teams that can be called into the playoff to take the place of any team that has notified the commissioner of their intent to be unable to play in the playoffs.
